Morning Prayers

Sign of the Cross

In the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Angelical Salutation

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The Statement of Faith

I believe in the Father Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth; And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified, died and was buried; on the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, together with the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified; he has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.

An Act of Faith

O God, I firmly believe all the truths that you have revealed and that you teach us through your Church, for you are Truth itself and can neither deceive nor be deceived.

An Act of Hope

O God, I hope with complete trust that you will give me, through the merits of Jesus Christ, all necessary grace in this world and everlasting life in the world to come, for this is what you have promised and you always keep your promises.

An Act of Charity

O God, I love you with all my whole heart above all things, because you are infinitely good; and for your sake I love my neighbour as I love myself.

An Act of Contrition

O God, I am sorry with my whole heart for all my sins because you are Goodness itself and sin is an offence against you. Therefore I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, not to sin again and to avoid the occasions of sin.

Other prayers

Holy Mary, be a mother to me.

All the Angels and Saints of God, pray for me.

May our Lord bless us and preserve us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
