Liberi Dei

Children of God is clearly what every human being is. This has been affirmed by His Holiness Francis, Bishop of Rome in the documentary, Francesco premiered at the Rome film festival on Wednesday evening. His Holiness said:

“Homosexual people have a right to be in a family. They are children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out or be made miserable over it. What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered. I stood up for that.”

The College of Bishops of the NCCUKI welcomed this statement coming from the Holy Father Pope Francis. The Archbishop of Anglia & Cambria commented:

It shows that our brother in Christ recognises the good in our LGBT sisters and brothers. We in the National Catholic Church of the United Kingdom and Ireland continue to support the marriage of all couples, gay or straight, and look forward to further developments from Rome.

We feel that we could assist the Holy Father in writing any Motu Proprio or Encyclical on the subject and would be happy to be contacted,” said the Archbishop.
